framing scenes
as if to say
this is worth
seeing
without a window
how will you know
where to look
when you go
outside
through the door
and meet
a thousand
impositions
of sight and sound
behind the safety
of a window again
you breath a sigh
at the predetermined view

these days
i sit in my van
and watch the sky change
walk on the beach
and feel the sand give way
beneath my feet
the water's not too cold
as it washes up against my legs
a thin man runs by
then a woman with her dog
today is like other days
yet entirely different

turning point
with rusty railings
that lead directly
into the ocean
wet, wild, vast
misty white
grey, greeny-blue-grey
the sand is mostly covered
by the sea
and the rock patterns
wet by crashing waves
are contrasting colours
of weathered wood
of weathered wood
and rusty iron
it's as though i'm in a painting
drawn here by an artist
as i sit
i feel a turning
not in a backwards direction
but inwards
not away
from this place
but you could say
turning back
to myself
